- Basic mosaic Course

Practical  Course of mosaic workshop, for those who want to learn the basic notions (theory and practice) of the ancient Roman-Byzantine technique

Duration: 40 Hours

• Short historical introduction to mosaic art and to its evolution and application in contemporary art.
• Projecting the work: realization of a Roman Mosaic copy.
• Execution of the "reticolo" and printing of the chosen subject.
• Choice and cut of stones using traditional tools (cutter and hammer).
• Realization of the mosaic using direct technique on temporary stucco.
• Pasting and fixing of canvas;
• separation of mosaic from temporary site.
• Application of the mosaic on final support.
• Finishings.

• - Advanced mosaic course

• Practical Course of mosaic workshop, for those who have already learnt the basic notions and want to deepen the realization of the work with further techniques or simply want to realize more difficult copies of mosaics.

  Duration: 40 Hours

  Contents: UL>
• Projecting the work: converting to mosaic a one's own sketch.
• Execution of "reticolo and printing of the chosen subject.
• Choice and cut of materials (marble, enamel, gold and silver) using traditional tools (cutter and hammer).
• Realization of the mosaic using further techniques.
• Application of the mosaic on final support.
• Finishings.
