Thanks to Tiziana for her patience and

improvise!
Thanks to Corinna for her sensitivity,
particularly in linguistics!
Thanks to both of them, because even with

some super moments with you!
Thanks to Giovanni for his precious
translations that were like sweet music to my ears...looking
forward to the next time...

Karen's comment :
I don't know if Tiziana understood me when I tried to tell her
(and Corrina) that I only have the opportunity to work with my
hands (usually on mosaics or stained glass) for a few weeks
every year. It is rare that I am able to spend an entire week
non-stop full-time on one piece and it was such a pleasure to do
this with Tiziana and Corinna. They were very patient with me; I
learned a lot about mosaics and the properties of marble. I also
really appreciated their feedback on my work, both negative and
positive. I will never forget the moments when Corinna would
look at my project for only a second or two and then say "Questa
e brutta!" while she removed some of the tesserae from the board
and magically rearranged them so they looked perfect, in a
matter of moments! It was equally rewarding to hear their
praise. Both of these women are passionate about mosaics and
dedicated to success, which they will acheive easily. To compare
this course to Ravenna's courses is like comparing apples to
oranges. I'm trying to say that the Ravenna course is formal and
regimented, and the Mondini course is more customized, since it
is one-on-one. I plan on returning to Narni as often as possible
to spend time in Tiziana's studio, wish I could be there now!
Thanks for a wonderful experience! Il vostro nuova amica, Karen |
Mosiac course with diploma of “Mosaicista progettista” Duration of 120 hours June 2002
Names Veronica and Silvia Nationality Italy and Switzerland
Silvia: During the course of study at CPFP Ravenna
to obtain the qualification of “mosaicista progettista” I did
training at “frammenti art” with Mondini Tiziana. The
course was comprised of 120 hours of laboratory applying what was being
studied. We had the opportunity to create a work of art from the very
beginning to its completion. The work undertaken was a fountain inspired
by roman style and by a floor mosaic with industrial chips to decorate a
village square at Rorriana (FC). I had the opportunity to compare mosaics
having different techniques of application and different materials. It is
much more difficult and tiring to work rapidly with the industrial mosaic
contrary to the situation with traditional mosaics, and it is not possible
to individualize one’s creation, but rather the objective is that of
filling a space with In doing the roman copy, instead, with the support
and patience of Tiziana, I was able to complete a very difficult project.
Without advice on how to proceed, on the choice of marble etc...it would
have been impossible to have a successful outcome. All this has given me a
fundamental and basic experience in order to pursue this activity. The
information obtained on mixtures, cements, marble and enamels continues to
be of fundamental importance. On this occasion I would like to again
express my thanks for this experience without which it would not have been
possible for me to continue in the art of mosaics. I appreciate having
learned so much and having experienced the joy of doing mosaics.
